MUSSEL RICE cooked in Creole;) it is rich in flavors

Ingredients ( For 2 to 4 people )

1 bowl of raw grain or basmati rice
400 g shelled mussels (frozen for me)
1 big onion
3 to 4 cloves of garlic
You can also add ginger
1/2 teaspoon of salt, both for pepper and turmeric
Some cherry tomatoes or 1 normal tomato (optional)
2 to 3 large hot or sweet peppers, or mini peppers
Some green onion stems (cive / new onion / onion)
Sunflower oil


1• wash the rice several times, rub well to remove the starch, let it drain well 
rinse the mussels too, and let drain, peel the onion, cut it roughly, peel the garlic, cut in very small dice, cut the cherry tomatoes in 2, split the peppers into 4, wash and cut the green onion roughly

2• In a large pot or skillet, heat a drizzle of oil, fry the mussels for 3 to 4 minutes,

3• Then add the minced garlic and onion, let sweat well

4• Then add salt, turmeric and pepper, stir well together

5• Then add the raw rice previously washed, mix well with the mussels,

6• then add the tomatoes, green onion, and chilli, then add some boiling water, just cover the rice with water, if you have to add it at the end of the cooking, put the lid

7• Bring the mixture to the boil, lower the heat and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes, at the end of cooking, check the seasoning if necessary, stir occasionally, so that the rice does not cling , check the cooking, if not add a little more water, and let it cook again, the rice must be very dry

8• Cut the fire, and let it cool
